Another great campsite is Heron Harbor Park. Heron Harbor Park is a great place to go boating, kayaking and fishing on the Youghiogheny River. You can also hike, walk and bike on the Youghiogheny River Trail. If you want to try new and different adventures, you could even go horseback riding on the trail! Each of the great campsites at Heron Harbor Park have a river view and large pull-through site with access to a large no-license fishing pond. Only a half hour drive from Pittsburgh, this Allegheny Passage campground is the only campground in a natural setting that is accessible by auto, RV, bike, bus, and boat.
Area attractions in reasonable distance to Heron Harbor Park include Boston Waterfront Restaurant with outdoor lounge and live music, Butler’s Golf Course with two 18-hole courses, practice ranges and a restaurant, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, the Kennywood Amusement Park and much, much more!
