Perched along the shore of Lake Michigan, some of Chicago’s best beaches find their home in Lincoln Park. Take a stroll down Armitage Avenue, west of Halsted and find the streets populated with little boutiques, perfect for a weekend shopping trip with girlfriends. Contact the Briar Street Theatre for ticket information. Are smaller, intimate performances more your thing? Make sure to stop at the legendary Steppenwolf Theatre on Halsted. The Greenhouse Theatre performs on Lincoln Avenue and has four stages and five resident companies. Finally, the Lakeshore Theatre on Broadway features the country’s top, edgiest comedians in a 330 seat theatre.
Nightlife:
Lincoln Park is a favorite hot spot for college-age students and young professionals. Some of the more unique attractions include Kingston Mines, the oldest real blues club in Chicago, Seven Ten Lounge, complete with bowling lanes, the multi-level dance club with floor-to ceiling windows, SkyBar, the swanky lounge and dance club venue, MaxBar, and finally, John Barleycorn, the historic pub originally built in 1890 with great beer and a great food menu. does host many non-collegiate bars and pubs for all ages.
