If you’re traveling with the children, one of the stops along the way should be at Amoskeag Fishways in beautiful Manchester. The Amoskeag Fishways Learning and Visitors Center is an environmental center where visitors can learn about fish migration and reproduction that happens within the Merrimack River. There are various exhibits, hands-on activities and games along with many other things for children to take part in. The Merrimack River exhibit offers live views of turtles, frogs, salmon, shad, herring and sea lamprey. The center is open throughout the year from Monday through Saturday, 9am to 5pm. Another great place to take children who love to learn is the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center, located in Concord. New Hampshire. Also a fun and exciting place for children, the Center allows the exploration of our world, our galaxy and our universe through various activities, games, shows, and hands-on interaction. There are permanent exhibits along with traveling exhibits available for viewing, along with simulation experiences, an observatory, NASA Educator Resource Center, conference areas, world-renowned planetarium, science store, and a café. The kids will love traveling into space for a day.
For family-friendly activities that will keep you cool during the summer heat, check out these two exciting water parks. Water Country in Portsmouth, is New England’s largest water park. As a premier destination for summer fun, this water park is fun for both adults and children.
