Like most cities, Kansas City has a lot to see and do. When exploring a new city it can get expensive, especially for a family. Visit these popular Kansas City attractions that don't charge visitors admission. In other words, visit these FREE attractions.
Take a tour of the Boulevard Brewing Company for free! Founded in 1989, this brewery has become the largest specialty brewery in Missouri. Tours take place Wed-Sun and although they are free, you must call in advance for reservations (816-474-7095).
Want to see the city from a different view? The City Hall Observation Deck allows visitors to see KC from 30 stories up, at no charge! As the third tallest building in the city it provides a great view of the rest of downtown. The observation deck is open from 7am-3pm Monday-Friday.
The Hallmark Visitors Center brings one of the most creative companies to life. Guests can see 14 different exhibits that display the company's beginning to to the creation of the largest greeting card company. Guests will have fun at the visitors center and can even make souvenirs to take home. The visitors center is closed on Sundays.
There are several free museums in Kansas City including the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. This museum provides a sleek exterior and an open, light-filled atrium full of amazing art interior. It offers permanent collections, temporary exhibits, free public programs, special events, and a tasty cafe. The museum is closed on Mondays but operates year round. Admission and parking are free.
For a great place to take the kids, visit Penguin Park. This park lets kids climb on a huge playground including a 26 foot kangaroo slide and 23 foot penguin to place inside of. Kids can also play on other animals including an elephant and giraffe. There is also a reservable shelter for parties or gatherings.
