  The Weatherspoon's permanent collection of more than 5,300 objects is considered one of the finest in the southeast. Willem de Kooning, Louise Nevelson, Magdalena Abakanowicz, Robert Rauschenberg, Alexander Calder, Andy Warhol, Robert Colescott, and Cindy Sherman are a few of the recognized artists represented. Other highlights include the Cone Collection of Matisse prints and bronzes, the Dillard Collection of Art on Paper and the Lenoir C. Wright Collection of Japanese woodblock prints.
