Description   The British Hudson's Bay Company established an extensive fur trading network throughout the Northwest, utilizing two dozen posts, six ships, and hundreds of employees. Fort Vancouver was the administrative headquarters and supply depot for the entire region. The fort became a center of activity and influence, with a profound effect on the development of the Oregon Country. American immigrants coming over the Oregon Trail were aided with supplies from the fort. Visitors can tour reconstructed buildings and view artifacts in the archaeological collection.
