Description   Home to the world's largest collection of Shakespeare, the Folger is a major center for scholarly research and a lively venue for the literary and performing arts. Exhibitions showcase its magnificent collection of rare Renaissane books and manuscripts. Shakespeare is always represented by a first folio on view as well as over 250 digitized images in the Shakespeare Gallery. Daily free tours at 11 a.m (and 1 p.m. on Saturdays) showcase the Folger's history, architecture, and programs. The museum shop features books and treasures inspired by the collection. One block from the U.S. Capitol.

  The Folger's landmark 1932 building is part of the naional register of historic places. One of the collecitons 79 first folios is always on view as a highlight of the Folger's world-class collection of Shakespeare's works and the Renaissance; also featured prominently in the changing exhibitions in the Great Hall. Audiences can experience theatre, concerts, and readings in the Folger's Elizabethan Theatre, a replica of the innyard theatres of Shakespeare's time.
