Description   The Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center is located just off Iowa Highway 12 in Stone State Park. This county facility showcases the Less Hills and provides opportunities for public recreation, education and stewardship.
The center's interpretive area houses a variety of exhibits including a "walk under" prairie, observation beehive and natural history dioramas. A discovery area provides opportunity to handle furs, antlers, fossils and other artifacts. Classes, special events and meetings are held in the two 60-seat classrooms. The facility is handicap accessible. Three miles of hiking trails offer spectacular views, and connect with other park trails. An outdoor amphitheater and 1/4 mile accessible trail is also available.
