San Diego's Old Town State Park marks the site of the first European settlement on the West Coast. The park has 12 acres of historic and restored adobe and wooden buildings. The time period represented at Old Town San Diego is from 1821 to 1872. The park includes shops, restaurants, gardens, and museums. Free daily tours of the Park's Historic Buildings occur at noon and 2:00 pm. Living history programs take place on Wednesdays and 4th Saturday each month.
