Knoxville's Official Visitor Information Center. Located along the Tennessee River at Volunteer Landing, the Gateway Regional Visitor Center celebrates the natural diversity of this region, the pioneering spirit of its people and some of the technological marvels that have been developed in East Tennessee. Exhibits within the center have three main focus areas: the abundant natural resources of the Southern Highlands, the cultural resources available in the Knoxville area and the technological resources of the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Complex. Visitors can also purchase crafts and books in our unique regional gift shop.
