Description   Experience the significant moments in the history and literature that have shaped this country into what it is today, the Greater Merrimack Valley region of Massachusetts. The region is home to scenic New England cities and towns, the most notable of which are the Towns of Concord and Lexington, and the city of Lowell. The Greater Merrimack Valley is the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and the site of the first battle of the American Revolution. The area was home to many writers, including Henry David Thoreau, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Louisa May Alcott, and Jack Kerouac.
