Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival The region's lone resident professional Shakespeare company.

Description   Founding Artistic Director, Terrence O’Brien “takes the starch out of the classics” with a critically acclaimed company that has played to nearly 90,000 audience members. Boscobel Restoration’s spectacular grounds provide set and setting for the Festival’s tent-theater. Now in its fifteenth season, the Festival remains the only resident professional Shakespeare company in the region. The 2001 season will include The Merchant of Venice and Romeo and Juliet
The Festival’s School Outreach and Artists-in-Residence Programs bring Shakespeare to over 6,000 students annually, and its summer Apprentice Program trains students seriously committed to theater arts.
