Park-Mccullough Historic House The best-preserved Victorian mansion in New England

Description   This Second Empire style “summer cottage,” built in 1865 with gold rush wealth, is one of the finest, most significant, and best-preserved Victorian mansions in New England. It was home to two Vermont governors, hosted four U.S. presidents, and was listed on the National Register in 1972. Today, it remains essentially as built, its 24 rooms still filled with lavish furnishings originally belonging to the Park-Mccullough family. The site also includes the original carriage barn with nine carriages, a playhouse modeled on the mansion, and gardens with a Lord and Burnham glass grapery.
