Frontier Culture Museum

Unique international living history museum with four heritage farms.

Visit four countries and 300 years of history in one afternoon. The Frontier Culture Museum has authentic farms and a working blacksmith’s forge which offer European and American history as an experience. Costumed staff using appropriate furnishings, gardens, livestock, and crops illustrate life in Old-world Europe and the culture these settlers help build on one of America’s first frontiers. Time periods include Germany early-1700s; Northern Ireland early-1700s; England late-1600s; and mid-1800s (pre-Civil War) Shenandoah Valley.
