Fun Facts

The Days Inn Inner Harbor Hotel was originally constructed in 1883 as the Maryland National Bank. It never actually opened as a banking facility, and stood vacant for many years. During the Great Baltimore Fire in 1904, the structure miraculously escaped the great devastation known to Baltimore.

From historical records, we have traced the beginning of the “fire” to directly across the street where the Baltimore Arena now stands. The Fire traveled eastward, leaving the buildings on this side of the street untouched.
