Crews dress in authentic railroad uniforms and are always ready for a photo op with passengers and their families.

There are bathrooms on site, but no bathrooms on board the train. No bathrooms are available during the train ride, which lasts approximately one hour.

The Hoosac Valley Train Ride is owned and operated by the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum, which as been an all-volunteer non-profit organization since 1984.

Passengers will ride on a former Boston and Maine Railroad Budd Rail Diesel Car built in 1955.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation helped to fund and construct the railroad tracks that carry the train excursion as well as rail freight to local customers.
