Historic Zoar Village allows visitors to step into the past and experience life in the early 19th century. Tour the historic buildings built by German Separatists of Zoar between 1817 and 1898.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and named a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior in 2016, Historic Zoar Village is a fountain of information. View daily demonstrations of what keeps Zoar alive, from the blacksmith to the print shop. Visit the Garden house to learn about the herbs and flowers frequently in olden times. Stop by the Treasurer’s house to view the Keeping Room and an antique shop. Dozens of village structures featuring German and European building traditions have been painstakingly preserved, and tours of the village are available. The whole experience is a great way to understand the past and appreciate the present.
