Why You Should Go...

Artfest Kingston, an art festival that takes place on Canada Day weekend yearly, has designed new and exciting special projects to commemorate and celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation. The event

All of the planned activities are thoughtfully created to be hands-on and participatory for all ages. The project celebrates diversity and explores who we are today as Strong, Proud and Free Canadians and asks participants to imagine and express who we might be as Canadians in the future. The results will create new original works of art, music, poetry, theatre, sculpture, drumming, dance, and an 80ft Word Art chalkboard mural.

150 artists and artisans from across Ontario and Quebec will be exhibiting at the festival and submitting a new item into competition. The submissions must be specifically designed and created to commemorate Canada's 150th anniversary. An award will be presented to the winning artist.
